The ICT Crew in my school is one of the most important aids to effective ICT implementation in the school. My aim is to have 2-3 pupils from every class in the ICT Crew, who can then act in a supportive, tutoring role, and even help with basic troubleshooting (printer is not plugged in etc.). All these will decrease the support calls that the ICT Facilitator will have, increase the knowledge and skills base in the school and therefore improve the pickup of ICT in the school.

An ICT Crew is a great idea as they can act as a fifth column in every class, your secret agents available to assist in good use of ICT equipment every class.

Empowering pupils is a powerful way to increase their respect for equipment and for them to support you in interaction with teachers and classes.

The ICT Crew can also act as a base to providing skills for higher level projects such as: school website, school movie news crew, school newsletter crew.

I have included below a range of resources that I have used to help train this bunch of enthusiasts in the school. Personally, I spend a number of lunch hours supporting this in the school (I asked for release from "duty"), so that the crew are encouraged and supported.
